New Build Is Live!
Hi there! We've made a few updates to the game since the jam competition has completed, and we're now able to show you them! It's nothing too significant, but if you felt the game started slow, got difficult too fast, or lagggggged... this should address those problems!
As always, we welcome feedback and opinions in the comments, even if you are reiterating yourself.
Here's the changelog:
- Added a volume slider to the main menu
- Added a Game Over scene
- Added a call to action to tell users to pick up the ashes
- Added a wrap-around feature to make enemies that leave the screen able to warp onto the other side.
- Make the gameplay start more immediately
- Tweak the gameplay stat design and spawn patterns to be a more forgiving and slower rise in difficulty
- Tweaked the sound of the exp pickup ashes object
- Made the audio continue playing during "pause" or "level up" moments
- Fixed an issue that caused the game to "lag" after a user levels up.
- Added an outro scene to let the user know the game has to come to an end (since this is just a prototype)
- Enabled the game audio, and main menu audio to loop
- Let the user return to the story section if they want to
- Made the end of game warning less obstructive
- Let enemies flee the screen if they are around too long, to avoid too many enemies from sticking around
- Improved performance, including removing a wasteful particle emitter, and lack of typing in the codebase
- Exported audio to recommended file types
- Added an FPS warning to let users with low fps know that Windows is the recommended platform
